Justine Purcell, Founder
A Toronto-born journalist, memoirist, fiction writer and ex digital content strategist based in Prince Edward County. Her articles and insights on relationships, parenting, travel and pop culture have appeared in Canadian magazines and newspapers including The Globe and Mail, CBC, Today’s Parent, blogTO, and Chatelaine.
A graduate of The University of Toronto, Justine earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in English Literature and subsequently obtained post-graduate certification in digital journalism from Centennial College.
She has taught and facilitated groups across Ontario, including at CAMH, Seneca College as a sessional lecturer, and for multiple corporate entities.
She has also contributed as an editor, consultant or producer to Nimbus Publishing, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Santa Barbara Independent, Four Seasons Magazine, Divorce Magazine and as a ghostwriter for a range of psychology and mental health textbooks and handbooks.
Justine writes novels, autofiction, lyric essays, screenplays, articles, short stories and the occasional terrible poem, some published and some forthcoming.
Her most recent completed book is a short memoir which was written after experiencing some personal losses.
She founded Cardiff Collective as a way to build writing culture and expand on her desire for community and camaraderie.
