ABOUT

Hey writer,

Are you ready to get up close and personal? We’re talking about lived experience writing, which takes shape as things like journaling, personal essay, autofiction, memoir, and other experimental forms.

No need to pick just one. Around here we play in the space between memory and imagination.

  • transforming memory and experience into story

  • learning the art and craft of memoir

  • getting familiar with other experimental forms

Whether you're gathering ideas, diving into a project, or just figuring out what's going on in your head, Cardiff Collective is a place to hone and build on writing practices. In a safe space, together.

Why we exist

Much of the driving force for the collective came from wanting community and camaraderie among writers. Transforming lived experience experience into art is a uniting force that brings all writers together. Whether working on memoir or journaling or personally based non-fiction, we share common ground. So why not work together, learn together, and enjoy each other’s company?
